What are you grateful for today? Is it easy for you to see the gifts in your life? Or do you focus on all the things that aren’t going your way? Over the years I’ve noticed that generally, people fall into one of two categories, those who express gratitude freely and those who don’t. It’s a matter of wiring. Is the glass half-full or half-empty? Gratitude is a show of appreciation. The glass might be half full or half empty but gratitude is being thankful there is a glass at all! It takes a shift in perspective and a bit of practice to feel gratitude throughout your day, including the most challenging moments.
Spend a moment and think of someone, something, or someplace you are grateful for and notice how your heart feels. The more you focus on feelings of gratitude, the more you increase your heart energy. These higher vibrations act as a tuning fork in resonance with similar higher vibrations. This explains why the more thankful you are the more abundance you experience. You create more of what you are grateful for. This festive time of year we are reminded to count our blessings. I challenge you to make this a daily practice throughout the year. Be thankful for the big things, the small things and everything in between.
I am grateful for being exactly who I am and where I am on this journey. Contentment with the present moment, not wishing for the past or hoping for the future, is the most precious gift I’ve given myself. Occasionally there are times I feel down in the dumps but I don’t have far to look before I’m reminded of the abundance and love that is ever-present in my life. I choose to focus on the gifts in my life and not on fear-driven, perceived lack. The choice is up to you. Choose to see and be grateful for the silver lining! It’s always there.
